Only mid to high-end devices from HTC

In a recent interview, HTC CEO Peter Chou said the company he leads focuses on producing high end phones, based on high quality materials. They aim to provide a premium user experience and are not planing on releasing cheap budget smartphones. Focusing only on a few devices could mean that the company will provide better future software updates and top customer service. It will also mean that HTC plan on releasing only a few smartphones per year. Up to now, the only piece of hardware that we’ve seen from HTC that would qualify as smartphone on a budget would be the Desire C[1]. Let’s not forget about the dual-SIM Desire V and VC[2] that a are also on the list of cheap Android smartphones while maintaining the HTC quality standards. If they plan on competing with the lead smartphone manufacturer â€" Samsung, HTC better think about revising their strategies as the Korean manufacturer is focusing on low end cheap devices.
